Memories

Our Brain is an extremely intriguing organ. The memory center of our bodies and they control how we feel, our nervous system it's actually quite crazy, wouldn't you say?

I only mention this because, one night while I was playing the Division, I played random songs on youtube starting with ColourBlind by Hands like a house, trying to get into a new band, only because listening to the same things over and over again gets old. Well anyway, This song, "Slowly Dancing forever" by I the mighty, came on, at the time it was just part of an album stream. Something about it hit me. As for the title of this post goes "Memories" it just I don't know didn't evoke anything vivid, but in the sense just memorized us. Later as I was strolling facebook, i saw this post of fun facts, and how scents evoke memories, so do songs or music, in general, do the same?

I'm super lame and will google, just about EVERYTHING I, myself don't know a definitive answer to. I simply googled "Do songs trigger memories" and sure enough tons of articles, some sketchy websites, and some legit ones. Psychology Today where there proof of this exact statement. So, in fact, that actually does. Some of the few who will actually read this post, will probably be like "Meh I know Scruffy, He's insane" or "I can believe it" or even the extremities "Bullshit" To Those guys I would like to tell you  a few four letter words, but I wont because I am a gentlemen and a scholar. (minus the scholar part). Either way it goes I actually have sat down and listened to songs, and certain ones make me think of certain people or certain things. For instance, Hollywood Undead's Everywhere I go, reminds me of a friend that our long running joke were being members of the group, me being Johnny 3 Tears, and him Charlie Scene, because why the hell not? Guardian Angel by Abandon All Ships, reminds me of an ex-girlfriend. Downfall of us All by A Day to remember, reminds me of my sophomore gym class. That was always an adventure waiting to happen. Remember Sophomore means Wise fool. That's exactly what I was.

Well there we have it folks, Wanna throw in your own "Bullshit" or even throw in your own experience? Go for it! I'll throw the link to the article if anyone wants to read it as well as a few fun videos.

Here's the wise fool and company,

Nostalgia

I'll start with this being my first blog, with somewhat of a story.  This a pretty broad topic, nostalgia. Growing up we all those things we enjoyed, and now we see them and can't think of things you like super much.

Anyway, here goes.

Last night, I was playing Saints Row 4. Yes I occasionally (okay you caught me, more often than not that's what you'll find me doing) The soundtrack included a song that really truly hit the spot "The Touch" by Stan Bush.   That's right, one of probably the coolest songs ever made, and very inspirational as well. Now as for what that reminded me of is completely different. Transformers, The 1986 movie. Now for those who have seen it, I really don't have to tell you how awesome this movie truly was.

Sorry, Michael Bay, Your explosions and the hotness of Megan Fox, you have nothing on the O.G Transformers (was that too corny?) as well as your "All spark" crap, the Matrix of leadership by far is where it's at. That's what makes you a Prime,

the cast as well was extremely fantastic,  all the originals and then some. Robert Stack and the late and great Leonard Nemoy.

I should probably get back on topic. It was the whole point that, even though it's a movie before my time, eight years to be exact, it's still something I cherish. I even wrote a paper on this exact movie in my freshman year of college.

I kind of wanted to end this with the statement? What's your nostalgic kind of thing? Do you think it's something that is always there? or is it an occasionally something that happens at random?
